What Stuart does to a window
Stuart sits where the St. Lucie River meets the Indian River Lagoon and the inlet, so almost every neighborhood gets some salt. On the riverfront in North River Shores, St. Lucie Estates and Rocky Point it comes in on the east wind and dries to a dull film on the windows facing the water. South toward Port Salerno and Manatee Pocket, the boatyards add diesel haze to it.
Inland, the problems change. The old oaks and slash pines along Kanner Highway and in Mariner Sands and Willoughby drop pollen from February through April, and the shaded glass on the north side of a house stays damp enough for mildew to take hold around the frames. Well-fed sprinklers leave white mineral spots on the lower panes, and the summer rains splash sand up onto everything below the sill.

How often should windows be cleaned in Stuart?
Inland homes under the oaks and pines do well every quarter, which keeps pollen, mildew and sprinkler spots under control. Homes on the St. Lucie River, the lagoon or near the inlet do better every two months because of salt. Most people have the inside glass done once a year.
